SCHOOL INTERNSHIP PHASE -1 THIRD WEEK π©π»π«
The fourth week of my school internship was a blend of teaching, classroom management, and adapting to the dynamic learning environment. By this time, I had become more confident in my teaching practices and better acquainted with the students and staff. The week began with a focus on refining my lesson planning and integrating more interactive activities. I tried incorporating questioning techniques and small group discussions to promote student participation and critical thinking.
Monday was an exam day . I was having the duty on the morning session,I had the 6th period for my class, and I was well-prepared with my lesson plan. The students were interactive and showed great enthusiasm throughout the session. Their active participation made the class lively and engaging. I was able to follow my teaching steps smoothly, and by the end of the period, I successfully attained all my learning objectives. It was a fulfilling start to the week, which boosted my confidence as a teacher-intern.
Tuesday was a busy yet fulfilling day during my internship. I had exam duty during both the morning and evening sessions, which gave me insight into the administrative responsibilities of teachers during examination days. Despite the hectic schedule, I had my class during the last period. To my delight, all my students were vibrant and energetic, even after a long school day. Their enthusiasm made the class enjoyable and helped me maintain a good teaching-learning flow. It was inspiring to see such active participation, and it kept my motivation high.
Wednesday, I focused more on formative assessment techniques. I conducted short tests and learning checks to evaluate the progress of my students. Some students showed improvement, while others needed more support, which helped me plan remedial sessions. I also used visual aids like flashcards and charts to make learning more accessible, especially for students who struggled with abstract concepts.
Thursday was particularly engaging as I introduced a group activity related to the lesson topic. It helped students learn collaboratively, and I observed improved communication among them. It also allowed me to assess their understanding in a less formal setting. I received encouraging feedback from my mentor teacher, who appreciated my efforts to make learning enjoyable and inclusive. Also I had exam duty at the evening.
On Friday, I assisted in preparing the classroom for a weekend activity and also got a chance to observe classes handled by senior teachers. This observation was valuable as I noted various strategies for managing diverse learners and maintaining classroom discipline effectively. I also reflected on my own teaching techniques and identified areas for further improvement, such as time management during activities and smoother transitions between lesson stages.Today we went for serving lunch for the UP School,Today it was having General PTA meeting, and also a class of Anti-drugs and health campaign at 2.30PM, There was the selection campaign for NCC and Sports.
